This tool adds calendar days to the mating date: dog 63 days (broad window 58–68), cat 64 days (58–70), and horse 340 days (320–370). These are practical approximations, not a medical prediction or a diagnosis of pregnancy. Mating and ovulation can happen on different days. The Merck Veterinary Manual gestation table gives dogs 62–64 days from ovulation but 58–72 days from breeding of unknown estrus stage, cats about 65 days, and horses about 11 months. The three displayed stages divide the average estimated gestation into thirds to help plan, not to establish fetal age. Milestone dates are deliberately approximate, especially in mares: equine reproductive development and veterinary schedules are not interchangeable with canine or feline schedules.
