Weight Calculator
Convert weight between Newtons, kilogram-force, and pound-force. Also discover how much you'd weigh on other planets in our solar system.
About the Weight Calculator
Weight is a force — specifically, the gravitational force acting on an object's mass. The SI unit is the Newton (N), where 1 N = 1 kg·m/s². In everyday life we often conflate mass (kg) and weight (N), but they differ: mass is invariant while weight changes with gravity. On Earth, a 70 kg person weighs 70 × 9.807 = 686.5 N ≈ 154.3 lbf. For converting mass between units like kg, lb, and stone, use our Mass Calculator.
The planetary weight table uses each body's surface gravitational acceleration. On the Moon (g = 1.625 m/s²), you'd weigh about 1/6 of your Earth weight. Jupiter's immense gravity (24.796 m/s²) would make you weigh 2.5× more. Pluto's tiny gravity (0.620 m/s²) means you'd barely weigh anything there.
