About the Wallpaper Calculator
Calculate a rectangular room’s wall area as 2 × (length + width) × height, then subtract the combined area of doors and windows. Enter the roll’s actual width and length using their own unit selectors. The calculator divides the adjusted wall area by estimated usable area per roll and rounds up to whole rolls.
A pattern repeat can reduce usable roll area: this estimator rounds a wall-height segment up to the next repeat and scales roll area by the resulting alignment loss. Add a waste percentage for trimming and mistakes. This is an area-based estimate, NOT an exact strip layout: room height, pattern matching, roll batch sizes and short leftover pieces can require more rolls.

Is this an exact wallpaper strip plan?
No. It estimates usable area with a pattern allowance; strip arrangement and offcuts can change the number of rolls required.
How do I enter a pattern repeat?
Enter the vertical distance before the pattern repeats, in the selected length unit. Enter zero for no repeat.
Does this account for windows and doors?
Yes. Enter their combined area in square feet or square meters; it is subtracted from gross wall area.
